SMQT Training

In Georgia, millions of people depend on affordable, quality healthcare services—thanks to the dedicated work of surveyors from the Department of Community Health (DCH). These surveyors are key to ensuring that long-term care facilities, like nursing homes and assisted living communities, meet high standards of care. Through their work with DCH’s Healthcare Facility Regulation Division (HFRD), they help ensure that facilities are operating at their best.

We’re changing the way surveyors are trained in Georgia by using innovative technology and real-world scenarios that reflect the challenges they’ll face in the field. This approach not only helps surveyors pass the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT), but also equips them with the tools they need to spot compliance issues quickly and improve care. By making training interactive and engaging, we’re raising the bar for healthcare quality and safety across the state—ultimately improving care for all Georgians.
