Service-Learning in the NMI

This semester, New Media Capstone has a new addition! As a part of the university-wide initiative to create experiential learning opportunities, 20 students were chosen to be part of the all-new Service division of Capstone. While a traditional Capstone team focuses on helping a client in the business sector or exploring a new device, these four service-learning projects focus on helping nonprofits leverage technology to better serve the community.

This semester, students are diving in to help College Factory, the Peabody Awards, Athens Land Trust, and the UGA Office of Service-Learning find new media solutions. Exciting project developments are already underway, and we can’t wait for you to see the final products at SLAM!
