Peabody Student Collective

The Peabody Student Collective is a student-led organization at the University of Georgia that works to support the prestigious Peabody Awards. The Peabody Awards honor excellence in storytelling efforts that grapple with the most pressing social issues of today. Showcasing “Stories That Matter,” the Peabody Awards highlight various types of media within categories such as entertainment, documentary, news, podcast/radio, arts, children’s and youth, and public service programming.

Our project is an accessible, digital platform for the Peabody Student Collective to use for stories, updates, and general information about the organization. To accomplish this, we created an editorial style, WordPress website. Because storytelling is essential to the Peabody Student Collective’s mission, the website contains all of the necessary components for Peabody members to edit and add new content. The website’s branding reflects that of the Peabody Student Collective and the Peabody Awards, ensuring that both organizations are accurately represented. To allow Peabody Student Collective members to showcase their work within the organization, the website contains space for video, photographic, and written content. Additionally, there is a membership form for potential members to fill out as well as information about the organization and the awards.

The Peabody Student Collective website serves to support existing members of the organization and encourage new members to join. Our project’s aim is to promote the club to the University as a whole and show students all that the Peabody Student Collective has to offer.
