Helping Outreach Staff Find Their FIT

Megan Ward speaking/presenting at PSO Keynote

Last month, NMI Director Megan Ward delivered the keynote address at the 6th Annual UGA Public Service and Outreach Staff Professional Development Conference.

Rather than focus on titles and traditional measures of success, Megan encouraged attendees to consider where their strengths and values intersect with the needs of the people they serve to build a meaningful career.

Drawing on her leadership journey with the New Media Institute, TEDxUGA, and her community work, Megan introduced the FIT Framework, a call to Find what matters to you, Invest beyond your title, and Translate your impact.

Megan challenged the audience to stay curious, build relationships before needing them, communicate impact, and look for opportunities to turn ideas into action. Fit isn’t about finding the perfect role. It’s a process of becoming better professionals and leaders.
