The University of Georgia Innovation District is a community of people, programs, and places working together to foster an ecosystem of innovation, entrepreneurship, and learning. This summer, the ID community is growing in a whole new way, and the NMI is at the heart of it.

A healthcare startup from Dallas, Texas is expanding to Athens, becoming ID’s first residential industry partner. Setting up shop in UGA’s new Innovation Hub on North Campus, CEO and UGA alumnus, Scott Edwards is leading a team to streamline the recruiting process for health care providers with an advanced digital platform, Metropolis. 

Through the development of student-driven projects and a long-term talent pipeline, the NMI’s Innovation District liaison Chris Gerlach is connecting our students to this rapidly growing startup! With a talented development team full of NMI students and a year-long Emerging Media Masters project kicking off this summer, Metropolis will be working closely with your fave institute to change the game of healthcare recruiting.
