We are so excited to be back on campus with some new faces this year!
Emily Taylor has joined the NMI as the Event and Training Coordinator and TEDxUGA Curator.
In this role, Emily brings together years of experience in theatre education, professional production, and event management.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Brenau University and 15 years of experience as a high school theatre educator, Emily helps students develop creativity, confidence, collaboration, and communication skills.
Her professional theatre career has given her a unique perspective on both sides of production. She has worked as a Production Stage Manager and Company Manager, providing her with both production side and client and organizational perspectives. Emily’s professional experience includes work in the theatre industry in both Atlanta and Massachusetts, as well as an opportunity to work on Wicked on Broadway.
At the NMI, Emily combines her experience in education, production, and event management to create thoughtful and engaging programs, support professional training, and curate TEDxUGA experiences. When she’s not at the NMI, you can catch Emily at the latest Broadway show, discovering a new coffee shop, or enjoying a crisp Diet Coke.
We have a second exciting addition to our NMI fam, Sarah Jones! As the NMI’s Academic Coordinator, Sarah advises students through the New Media Certificate, Emerging Media Master’s, and Double Dawgs programs.
Sarah also serves as the Teaching Assistant for NMIX 2010: Intro to New Media and NMIX 4210: New Media Industries.
Sarah earned her Bachelors in Management and Administration from Gordon State College and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Emerging Media.
With professional experience as a Marketing and Sales Representative and as an Academic Advisor, Sarah brings strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to the NMI.
When she’s not studying or advising NMI students, you can find Sarah playing the violin, reading, travelling, junk-journaling, and drinking hot chocolate.
