The NMI recently adventured to Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) in Atlanta for our first in-state site visit of the academic year. We began the day with a tour of WBD’s broadcast studios, most of which are used for their sports league partnerships. Our students even sat in the chairs that belong to Shaquille O’Neal, Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley on TNT’s Inside the NBA! Students also toured one of the studios used earlier this year in the first presidential debate.
Later, we heard from a panel of WBD employees from the Digital Product team, including from our host Rob Lawrence, a UGA alum and WBD’s Director of Digital Product Growth. Rob and his team discussed how WBD develops apps, games, and other products in conjunction with their corporate and sports league partners. This visit was one for the books!
