Before the Fall semester fired up, Isa Martinez, Megan Ward, and Chris Gerlach teamed up to give Thrive students a taste of all things New Media! Thrive is a signature Summer program designed to help incoming UGA first-years get a head start on college life with classes, community, and unique experiences — areas in which the New Media Institute shines.
Megan kicked things off with a whirlwind tour of the NMI and the many unique opportunities we offer, while Isa led a TEDxUGA salon exploring the art of a powerful presentation. To round things out, Chris took the group outside for some hands-on tech time where students participated in 3D painting competitions in VR and drone pilot training on the Grady lawn.
The Thrive students brought NMI-level energy and curiosity, making it a memorable afternoon for everyone involved. We were thrilled to share the spirit of creativity and exploration that drives the NMI and inspire the next generation of Dawgs to dream big, think boldly, and even fly a little higher!
