#SquashGoals

Although summer has officially come to an end, and we can’t hit the beaches anymore (sorry Ken!), we’re thrilled to be back at our Mojo Dojo Casa House, AKA the fourth floor!
As our dreamhouse continues to evolve, we’re realigning our roles to fit the updated NMI framework. Leah Moss has transitioned into the role of Remote Faculty member, where she’ll channel her expertise into teaching online sections of NMIX 4011/6011: New Media Design and JRMC 7013: UX Strategy. Meanwhile, Kyla Sterling will take the helm as the EM Faculty Advisor, overseeing all matters related to Emerging Media, Online Emerging Media, and Double Dawgs. But wait, there’s more! We’re delighted to introduce a host of new (well, relatively new) faces to the NMI family. Join us in extending a warm welcome to…

? Reagan Brode • Assistant Program Coordinator

Leading all things facilities and tech at the NMI is Reagan Brode! They will be the primary point of contact for any tech queries, requests, and reservations. Additionally, they will also help orchestrate the NMI’s signature events, including Professional Fridays and NMIXpo.

When Reagan isn’t crafting lines of code for the NMI website, you can find them enjoying quality time with their pets and friends!

?️ Isabella Martinez  TEDxUGA Assistant Curator

Isabella Martinez now serves as Assistant Curator for TEDxUGA. Collaborating closely with Esther Kim, she is the go-to for everything TEDxUGA – from assisting with the New Media & TED course to selecting and curating presenters to hosting the event.

When Isa isn’t in TED-land, she’s hiking or camping, embracing the great outdoors!

? Hope Thornton  Academic Coordinator

Hope Thornton is the NMI’s new Academic Assistant. Hope supports faculty and students in this capacity by serving as the New Media Certificate, Emerging Media Masters, and Double Dawgs Advisor. Additionally, she is a Discussion Leader for NMIX 2010: Intro to New Media and a Teaching Assistant for NMIX 4210: New Media Industries.

Outside the NMI, you can catch her hitting the trails with her running club!

?️ Daniel Copetillo  Remote Faculty

Guess who’s back and better than ever? Our very own Daniel Copetillo! You might remember him from his days as TEDxUGA Producer or as an Emerging Media Masters student working with our first Innovation District client. However you know him, we’re beyond excited to have him back as a new Remote Faculty member. Daniel is teaching NMIX 4020/6020: Advanced Web Development while juggling his gig as an Applied Intelligence Analyst at Accenture, LLC.

Daniel began his NMI journey in 2018 and has been a solid part of the crew ever since, working behind the scenes with both the NMI and TEDxUGA. We are excited to see what he will do in this new role as he helps develop curriculum for our ever-evolving advanced courses.

? Claire Jordan  Remote Faculty

Once an NMIer, always an NMIer! We are thrilled to welcome back Claire Jordan, an alumna of the New Media Certificate, Emerging Media Masters, and TEDxUGA. This year, Claire has returned to the NMI as a Remote Faculty member, bringing her expertise NMIX 4010/6010: Web Development. In the Spring, she will be back in the classroom to teach NMIX 4011/6011: New Media Design.

Beyond her role in shaping the developers and designers of tomorrow, Claire is the founder and driving force behind clairejo.co, her creative contracting company. Specializing in graphic design, branding, and videography, she infuses her unique touch into every project. Welcome back, Claire!
