This month, the NMI hosted the first-ever Spark Breakfast. This casual meet-and-greet over Cafe Racer donuts and coffee provided the opportunity for a new cohort of Spark Students and Spark Alumni to network and collaborate.
Spark Awards provide funding for out-of-classroom learning and opens doors for students to pursue new experiences. Spark Students use their funding for academic research and projects that spark their passion, motivation, and desire to do something great in the world.
Since Spring 2024, the NMI has served as the home of the Spark Awards here on campus and has been building opportunities for the Spark community to network and collaborate in all new ways. Within the NMI, Spark funding directly supports the Georgia on Your Mind podcast. Awarded annually, more than 100 students from 9 different majors have received funding from the Spark Awards.
