NMIXpert: Peyton Owens

Peyton is a first-year grad student pursuing an Emerging Media degree from the NMI! He previously graduated from UGA in 2024 with an undergraduate degree in Cognitive Science with minors in Linguistics and Consumer Economics.

He has been involved in the NMI since 2023 as he also gained the certificate in his undergraduate years. During his certificate and undergraduate journey, Peyton managed to gain numerous development skills. Peyton is now proficient in numerous coding languages and applications including: HTML, CSS, and WordPress.

Peyton works as a program assistant for the NMI as the Assistant Producer/Curator for TEDxUGA 2025. Aside from TEDxUGA production, planning, and curation assistance, Peyton also helps lead discussions and grade assignments for the NMIX 4012 class. When he is not spreading UGA’s best ideas, you can find Peyton at the front desk of Ramsey, attending local concerts, or simply reading a good book!
