This month, the NMI kicked off 2025 with a site visit to Las Vegas to attend the Consumer Electronic Showcase, the largest tech event in the world. CES is a hub of innovation, and our students and faculty spent the week immersed in the latest advancements shaping the future of technology and media.
NMI faculty and students explored miles of show floors checking out the latest gadgets, software, and consumer products from organizations across the globe. Some of our favorites included smart projectors by Valerion, 3D screens by Caliverse, high-quality portable monitors by Espresso, Ohsnap phone grips, haptic suits for VR, driving simulators, futuristic massage chairs – because after four days on our feet, how could we not – and so much more!
To cap off day one, we joined thousands of fellow attendees at the Sphere for the Delta Keynote with CEO Ed Bastian. In celebration of its 100th anniversary, Bastian announced Delta’s future initiatives integrating AI and sustainability into their flight experience, all while showcasing the immersive graphics of the Sphere throughout his talk. The event wrapped up with a special performance by Lenny Kravitz, ending the evening on a definitive (and melodic) note!
In addition to the expo floors, CES hosted panels featuring industry leaders representing a wide range of sectors, including automotive, media, gaming, health, financial, sports, and more. These sessions offered insights into the emerging tech trends and innovations shaping these industries.
Throughout the week, our team also took in the atmosphere of Vegas, including a visit to the famed art installation Meow Wolf, catching Cirque Du Soleil’s new show, Mad Apple, and sampling world-class food. The trip was an experience we won’t soon forget!
