From Capstone to the App Store

As far as successful pivots go, one capstone team this semester became a shining example. Team WUOG, formerly Team Echo Show, encountered some unavoidable issues in the exploration and development of their technology. With only 3 weeks left in the semester, they realized they had to change direction and do so quickly. After some intense brainstorming and a thorough evaluation of potential pursuits, a team member, Will Wise, resurfaced a project he began working on in NMIX 4310 — an iOS app for the on-campus, student-run alternative radio station, WUOG.

Within 3 short weeks, not only was the team able to build and polish the WUOG app as well as a series of marketing efforts, but they also officially launch WUOG in the App Store by SLAM! Now, anyone can download the app and listen to music and talk shows broadcasted from the heart of campus right from their phones.

We couldn’t be more proud of the hard work these students dedicated to overcome a huge challenge in such a short time. This app is one of several that NMI Capstone teams have been able to launch in the last few semesters, and we look forward to the many more to come!
