Just before the Thanksgiving break, our Jamestown Capstone Team had the exciting opportunity to travel to Boston to meet with their client and explore project possibilities. The motivated team comprised of Sophie Ryland, Jared Dangremond, Lydia Megdal, and Lyman Chen is working with Jamestown Properties, owner of the Atlanta favorite Ponce City Market, to create a unique augmented reality experience for the Innovation and Design Building in Boston. Eager to help the students throughout their AR exploration, Jamestown flew the team up to visit the site, conduct valuable research, and help develop their understanding of the unique space and the people that use it.
While in Boston, the team interviewed approximately 40 people (including a couple of company executives) about their understanding of augmented reality and their thoughts on potential AR applications throughout the building. In addition to their hard work, they also had the opportunity to explore the city and all it has to offer such as the Boston Common, Harvard University, and the Freedom Trail. Since their return, the Capstone team along all the others have been working hard to get their final projects ready for the big day – SLAM!
