In the Spring 2021, the NMI officially dedicated Fridays to fostering student and industry collaboration. Through this initiative, the NMI is actively promoting the professional growth of students. From networking lunches to internship interviews to site visits, Professional Fridays offer a plethora of opportunities for students to learn and grow!
In addition to our Wisconsin adventure, we embarked on three site visits much closer to home this semester.
First up in Georgia, students visited Mercedes-Benz USA, the distributor of Mercedes-Benz cars in the United States. Along with a tour and some Mercedes-Benz trivia, the day included an exclusive look under the hood of three electric vehicle models!
At World 50, an Atlanta-based company facilitating connections among C-suite level executives at global giants, students engaged in insightful discussions with the team, gaining valuable insights into the company’s recent marketing initiatives They also witnessed the companies acquisition of a new client, and even got to strike the victory gong that had previously graced the stage at an Imagine Dragons concert!
Lastly, students got a behind-the-scenes look at Marketwake, a cutting-edge digital marketing agency specializing in storytelling and brand building. They were greeted by some adorable office pups before putting their tech knowledge to the test with a AI vs Human Generated quiz. Before heading out, they took a sneak peek at the process and timeline for revamping the Grady College website!
Thanks to our incredible network of alumni and Advisory Council members, students were able to gain deeper insights into these companies, explore their unique spaces, and network with individuals from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise.
Thank you to those who helped make these trips possible! If you have an idea of where the NMI should go next, don’t hesitate to reach out to Dayne Young with more information.
