Last month, we celebrated Megan Ward being officially named the Director of the New Media Institute. And the good news continues! This month, we are excited to announce that Chris Gerlach has officially been named the Assistant Director of the New Media Institute!
Chris is vital to keeping the New Media Institute running while also bringing curiosity and fun energy to all of his various roles. Combining his industry knowledge and passion for interactive technology, Chris inspires his students to explore new skills in emerging media and uncover their hidden talents.
After starting out as a Graduate Assistant for the NMI in 2013, Chris has since taught and built a variety of New Media Certificate and Emerging Media Masters courses including New Media Design, Native App Development, Immersive Realities, Project Management, and more!
As TEDxUGA’s stage designer, we can always count on Chris to deliver designs that express the creativity and passion that our presenters bring to the stage each year. When he is not helping students through immersive learning experiences, Chris brings the heat at intramural sports, enjoys gaming, and creates impressive home renovation projects with his family!
Please join us in congratulating our very own Chris Gerlach for this well-deserved opportunity to lead the NMI’s future!
