Making it Work Better

The NMI has received UGA’s inaugural Excellence in Academic Program Assessment Award

This award recognizes the intentional, dedicated effort of NMI faculty to annually assess student learning outcomes. According to UGA’s Office of Instruction, the New Media Certificate was among the top 1% of programs demonstrating outstanding academic program assessment.

“It is evident that the program is committed to ensuring a strong learning experience for students by engaging in ongoing, reflective assessment practice,” said Office of Instruction Director of Assessment Katie Burr.

This award is an amazing recognition of the collective work of NMI faculty, staff, and our Advisory Council, and the NMI’s mission to make things work better. But specifically, this award reflects the dedication of Certificate Faculty Advisor Tyler Mazurek to gather, organize, and present data that helps us improve year after year. Thank you, Tyler! What can we say – the man loves a spreadsheet.
