Anthony Drag
Part-Time Instructor
As a Part-Time Instructor in the NMI, Anthony specializes in Advanced Web Development and Native App Development courses. He believes that learning how to create, no matter what the medium, is important, necessary, and very, very cool. While his courses are intended to foster technical and creative ability, Anthony also hopes to help develop the soft skills required for professional success in any arena — adaptability, inquisitiveness, problem-solving, and self-direction.
In addition to his work at the NMI, Anthony is a writer, creative consultant, and musician with over a quarter century of experience in the fields of new media, entertainment, and technology. He spent nearly ten years at the Walt Disney Company, first as Senior Writer for its New Technology and New Media division, and later as Manager of corporate Synergy and Special Projects. In that latter role, Anthony oversaw special projects development for the office of Disney’s Chairman and CEO, while also serving as a member of an executive workgroup that coordinated interdivisional marketing campaigns for the company’s core businesses (motion pictures, television, theme parks, consumer products, online content). His writing has been published by Disney Publishing.
Anthony holds a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, where he was on scholarship for cinematography. He received a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy from Georgia State University, graduating magna cum laude and with distinction in major.
When not teaching or working, Anthony runs, works out, writes (for fun and, occasionally, for profit), plays keyboards with friends, and produces recordings for local Athens musicians. He never thought he would be a cat person — until a cat showed up at his doorstep and adopted him.
