Emily Taylor serves as the Event and Training Coordinator and TEDx Curator for the University of Georgia’s New Media Institute (NMI), where she brings together 15 years of experience in theatre education, professional production, and event management to create meaningful experiences that connect people, ideas, and communities. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Brenau University and spent 15 years as a high school theatre educator. As a teacher, she helped students develop creativity, confidence, collaboration, and communication skills—experiences that continue to shape the way she approaches events, training, and storytelling today.

Her professional theatre career has given her a unique perspective on both sides of production. She has worked as a Production Stage Manager, managing the day-to-day operations of productions from the production side, and as a Company Manager, supporting artists and productions from the client and organizational perspective. Her professional experience includes work in the theatre industry in both Atlanta and Massachusetts, as well as an opportunity to work on Broadway as a Stage Management Intern with Wicked.

At NMI, Emily combines her experience in education, production, and event management to create thoughtful and engaging programs, support professional training, and curate TEDx experiences that bring compelling ideas to the forefront.

When she’s not at NMI, Emily can usually be found catching the latest Broadway show, discovering a new coffee shop, or enjoying a crispy Diet Coke.
