Civic Link
Serving and engaging teens in civic life requires meeting them right where they are: on their
phones. CivicLink is a mobile-first platform designed to support the Perry Youth Advisory
Council (PYAC) and the general teen population of Perry, Georgia. Serving as a central hub for
Youth Council updates and teen-focused resources, it offers engaging digital features that make
civic engagement simple and exciting. CivicLink bridges the gap between local government and
the next generation by helping Youth Advisory Council members participate meaningfully during
their term and by empowering the broader teen community to share their voices and shape the
future of Perry.
CivicLink is designed to serve PYAC, the broader teen population, and the City of Perry Georgia
Government. City of Perry leadership has recognized that stronger communication and
engagement with the youth demographic are essential for the City’s future development. By
keeping PYAC members and local teens connected and engaged, CivicLink meets the City’s
goal of increasing youth participation in government initiatives while ensuring the platform is
appealing enough to encourage regular, long-term use.
CivicLink applies emerging technology through the development of a mobile-first website
designed with advanced UX/UI principles. Its features include interactive discussion boards,
direct access to City leaders, comprehensive City calendars, and a secure login for PYAC
members to receive time-sensitive, council-specific information, and exclusive resources. These
features provide a modern, functional platform that meets the PYAC and Perry’s youth where
they are and encourages them to play an active role in shaping the future of the City of Perry.
