Big news! Megan Ward has officially been named the Director of the New Media Institute!
For years, Megan has been the engine that keeps the NMI running – teaching, mentoring, organizing, leading, and somehow managing 1,000 things at once with a smile and a spreadsheet. From Graduate Assistant to Program Coordinator to Administrative Director, she’s done it all. Now, the title finally matches the magic.
A Double Dawg and proud NMI alum, Megan’s leadership has fueled major growth since 2015. Under her tenure, the NMI has launched programs like the Emerging Media Masters, Spark Awards, Professional Fridays, Fundsters, NMIXpo, and more. Not to mention that she’s steered the ship of TEDxUGA since 2013, curating 12 main stage events and helping over 145 speakers share ideas worth spreading to more than 7.2 million viewers.
In true NMI fashion, Megan’s classrooms are creative, industry-driven, and just the right mix of chaotic and inspiring. Beyond campus, she pours that same energy and heart into the community as a foster parent and head of two nonprofits, reminding us all what it looks like to lead with purpose.
