Sharing TEDx-pertise with UGA 3MT

The TEDxUGA curation team has once again partnered with the UGA Graduate School to support students participating in Three Minute Thesis (3MT), a global competition that challenges students to present their thesis or dissertation and its significance in three minutes or less.

In August, TEDxUGA Curator Isa Martinez and TEDxUGA Licensee Megan Ward hosted an introductory training session for prospective 3MT competitors and anyone interested in sharpening their presentation skills. Isa and Megan shared strategies for crafting compelling narratives with a focus on clarity, audience connection, and translating big ideas into digestible messages.

Later in the semester, the team will host a workshop for the 3MT finalists, where each participant will receive individualized coaching. This session will prepare students for UGA’s 3MT main stage, and the winner will advance to represent UGA at the regional competition.

New this year, the workshop will be held in the Office of Student Success and Achievement’s Creative Hub for Collaboration and Innovation. This hands-on space features cutting-edge technologies, including a Presentation Collaboratory where students can refine and practice their speaking skills.
