Earlier this semester, the TEDxUGA curation team partnered with the UGA Graduate School to provide an inaugural Three Minute Thesis (3MT) workshop. The 3MT is a global competition that challenges graduate students to explain their complex research in an engaging three-minute pitch supported by one slide.

During the workshop, TEDxUGA Licensee Megan Ward, Curator Isa Martinez, and Assistant Curator Peyton Owens shared strategies for crafting compelling narratives – focusing on clarity, audience connection, and the ability to translate ideas into clear messages. Each semifinalist received individual coaching to help better highlight the impact of their work while staying concise and memorable. This collaboration prepared the students for the finals, from which the winner will go on to represent UGA at the regional competition.
