One of our Fall 2019 Capstone teams recently earned a well-deserved moment in the spotlight. Many of our projects are dedicated to tackling real-world problems for clients, but it’s always a particularly sweet success story when a team can make a local impact.
Last semester, a team of five students collaborated with the nonprofit, Athens Access to Justice, which helps Athenians navigate civil law. By combining the organization’s understanding of the justice system and some NMI techspertise, the team created a web-based solution to simplify self-representation and provide easy-access legal information for those in need. After the official launch in February, the team was featured in UGA Today . We’re proud of these students earning some recognition, and even more proud that their efforts are helping create justice in our community.
