the amazing things that technology could lead to (Utopia) and all the horrible things that could come from it (Dystopia).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your group can pick a target year between 5-20 years from now (2030-2045)\u2014far enough out that we\u2019re beyond the obvious and have enough time for social change to accompany technological changes, but not so far out that we\u2019re into the realm of science fiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grading (15 points total)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Table experience, 6 points<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Create a 5-minute experience for guests to your table, planning for about 3-4 minutes of scripted presentation + 1-2 minutes of Q&amp;A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>6: Polished, practiced, and both the table experience and the online artifact, demonstrate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Thorough research<a href=\"#footnote-1-980\" id=\"note-1-980\" rel=\"footnote\">1<\/a> into the current state and future trajectory of your selected topic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clear thinking about the future of your topic supported by your research alongside information and concepts from class<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analysis from multiple perspectives (technological, social, cultural, ethical, economic, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration between all portions of the project<a href=\"#footnote-2-980\" id=\"note-2-980\" rel=\"footnote\">2<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A sufficient level of polish<a href=\"#footnote-3-980\" id=\"note-3-980\" rel=\"footnote\">3<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A sense of fun, play, and creativity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Group roles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ll be working in a group of 10-12 (half your discussion group). The following are suggested\u2014but not required\u2014roles. How you divvy up the work is up to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Project coordinator: Works with everyone in the group to coordinate everything that happens into a single, cohesive project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research coordinator: Working with project coordinator, divvies up, coordinates, and pulls together research<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Researcher: Carries out and reports back project research<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Online thing coordinator: Responsible for ultimate success of the online thing. Coordinates research, original thought, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Online thing editor: Responsible for final quality of written portion of online thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Online thing writer: There might be more than one of these.
