One of the things that I love about what we cover in this class is that it’s ever-changing. Staying up to date with industry news 1<\/a> lets you see how what we’re learning is affecting the world right now<\/em>, and that’s a big deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To that end, each of you will establish a Technology News Practice this semester that will be one of the key sources of entries for your Learning Journals<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A curated list of industry news sources that you regularly read<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For me, this is Twitter<\/a> and Mastodon<\/a>, supplemented with Apple News + a few newsletters. Choose what you’d like, but work toward a diverse list of reputable sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A way to save things for later<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A\u00a0way to save things for later<\/em>: The moment you find something interesting and when you have time to read that thing frequently aren’t the same time. Tools like\u00a0Matter<\/a> and Pocket<\/a>\u00a0solve that problem, and tags, in particular, are a great way to turn your reading into a searchable library, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
