Presentation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3-5 minutes long<\/li>\n<li>Each team member must present something<\/li>\n<li>Focused on providing a concise summary \/ presentation of each of the other three items below<\/li>\n<li>You should show off your alpha in working form<\/li>\n<li>You may use slides if you wish, but they&#8217;re not required<\/li>\n<li>While perfection isn&#8217;t the goal here, you should be clearly rehearsed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>1. Alpha<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make something\u2014anything\u2014work\u00a0on the platform\u00a0you&#8217;re developing for\u2014 HoloLens, iPhone, Echo Show, web, etc.<\/li>\n<li>We&#8217;re\u00a0looking for proof that you can make stuff work with the platform you&#8217;ve been assigned<\/li>\n<li>Your alpha will be evaluated during your presentation; no other submission is necessary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Exploratory Research<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A comprehensive presentation of your group&#8217;s learning for this project so far<\/li>\n<li>It should be 2 things: 1) a primer (introductory reader) about your client\/tech and 2)\u00a0a glimpse into the sources that have informed your thinking about your project<\/li>\n<li>For 2) above, specifically consider what has informed your thinking or approach with your tech; have you looked at other products? What did you like? Where do you want to improve? Inspiration? Etc?<\/li>\n<li>For all of this, be sure to cite sources with links and to set off direct quotes with quotation marks<\/li>\n<li>Your doc should be relatively polished in terms of grammar, formatting, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Submit your project plan as a single PDF (one per group, not per student) in <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/0B2Mrbw6_FtFgRXpxUHZrb0pGR1k?resourcekey=0-s_Su_bX8dZj3VAOv-nBB2w&amp;usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this Google Drive Folder<\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Use the following naming convention: Project Name_Deliverable Name<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Acceptable Example: Travlr_Exploratory Research<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Unacceptable Example: Exploratory Research 9.10<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Project Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Whatever type of document works best for you is great here\u2014Google\/Word doc, slides, whatever<\/li>\n<li>Might be helpful to start with all your final deliverables and work backwards step by step for each one<\/li>\n<li>We&#8217;re looking for evidence that you&#8217;ve thought critically about each step of each process<\/li>\n<li>Think about what your greatest challenges \/ largest potential roadblocks will be and how you\u2019ll be starting work immediately to tackle them.<\/li>\n<li>Consider\u00a0reach \/ main \/ safety goals: what happens if everything goes better than expected, where you think you\u2019ll land, and your minimum deliverable if everything hits the fan.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;d probably be a great idea to note that each of you has put all of these tasks into your calendar \/ task management system of choice<\/li>\n<li>Submit your project plan as a PDF in <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/0B2Mrbw6_FtFgVVhHb25zeU5HODg?resourcekey=0-1duI80_un1VW2vi3GnBmuA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this Google Drive Folder<\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Use the following naming convention: Project Name_Deliverable Name<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Acceptable Example: Travlr_Exploratory Research<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Unacceptable Example: Exploratory Research 9.10<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4. PR\/FAQ<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You&#8217;ll write a one-page press release and an accompanying FAQ written to be shared a bit after the successful release of your (future) final product.<\/li>\n<li>For the press release, write &#8220;an internal press release announcing [your] finished product&#8230; &#8216;centered around the customer problem, how current solutions (internal or external) fail[ed], and how the new product [blew] away existing solutions.'&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>The following outline might help:\n<ul>\n<li id=\"c531\" class=\"ll lm dp aw ln b lo lp lq lr ls lt lu lv lw lx ly me mf mg\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\"><strong class=\"ln md\">Heading \u2014 <\/strong>Name the product in a way the reader (i.e. your target customers) will understand.<\/li>\n<li id=\"78b7\" class=\"ll lm dp aw ln b lo mh lq mi ls mj lu mk lw ml ly me mf mg\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\"><strong class=\"ln md\">Sub-Heading \u2014 <\/strong>Describe who the market for the product is and what benefit they get. One sentence only underneath the title.<\/li>\n<li id=\"8f64\" class=\"ll lm dp aw ln b lo mh lq mi ls mj lu mk lw ml ly me mf mg\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\"><strong class=\"ln md\">Summary \u2014 <\/strong>Give a summary of the product and the benefit.
