There are many useful resources that can assist you with\u00a0your Xcode Swift journey. \u00a0The following list points you to a few that I have found to be helpful.<\/p>\n

  1. Beginning IOS 10 Programming<\/a> with Swift. A very approachable introductory book on Swift, with sample lessons, etc. An excellent resource. The same author also offers an intermediate book.<\/li>\n
  2. IOS 10\u00a0App Developmental Essentials<\/a>. Another great resource. This $20 ebook is HUGE, clearly written, and also comes with lots of great sample code.<\/li>\n
  3. Code with Chris. Code with Chris YouTube tutorials<\/a>will take you to Chris’s Youtube site. I don’t know his last name but Chris does some really fine tutorials and often provides files that you can download for free. He also maintains a pay to play site @ codewithchris.com, where he sometimes offers valuable lessons for free.\n

    1. I benefitted a lot from this Code With Chris lesson<\/a> on connecting IOS apps to mysql databases.<\/li>\n
    2. \u00a0This Code with Chris lesson on pickerviews<\/a> is also quite good.<\/li>\n
    3. Code with Chris Auto Layout Tutorial<\/a><\/li>\n
    4. Another Chris tutorial about connecting IOS apps to databases<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    5. Ray Wenderlich @\u00a0https:\/\/www.raywenderlich.com. Another good source of tutorials.<\/li>\n
    6. https:\/\/grokswift.com. \u00a0This one I haven’t used but it was recommended by a student in my Spring 2016 class.<\/li>\n
    7. Appcoda<\/a>. This site has lots of \u00a0tutorials from random developers. \u00a0Some of the Mapkit, sqlite, and barcode tutorials look interesting. .<\/li>\n
    8. App Development with Swift\u00a0<\/a>. An Ibook from Apple with a set of lessons that covers a lot of fundamentals. You will get lots of experience with playgrounds with this one.<\/li>\n
    9. A you tube constraint lesson by Jason Davidson<\/a>. \u00a0He looks pretty young (12 maybe? \ud83d\ude42 but Philip Galioto, the student who found this lessons, says he knows what he is talking about.<\/li>\n
    10. Swift language guide from Apple. Mas o menos.<\/a><\/li>\n
    11. How to upload an image<\/a><\/li>\n
    12. Hamburger Sidebar Menu<\/a>. Emily Smith, a student from last semester’s 4310 class just put this one to work for her Capstone project.\u00a0In her project, it sits in the upper left corner and creates a cool sidebar effect when clicked.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
